Project Description:
The $20 million project, completed in 2012, consisted of the construction of a 1200-ton per hour, state-of-the-art petroleum coke handling system located at the Port of Lake Charles Bulk Terminal No. 1. The system provided for the stacking, storage, and export of all petroleum coke received from the Citgo Lake Charles Refinery. The system was installed while allowing existing coke receiving and reclaiming to continue operation at the terminal throughout the construction period of approximately 18 months, with the exception of a one-week total downtime period.
